Why?

Why can we send each other payment requests for free, while at the same time payment providers earn millions on our (mostly business) transactions? That is what I wondered when I was on holiday and had all the time in the world to think it over.

An example: when someone wants to pay for a sports drink in a sports canteen, that person has to pay 2 euros. In the old days those two euros went into the cash drawer. Nowadays 29 cents quickly disappears into the pocket of the payment provider. Even if you have a better deal for small amounts (through PayPal, for instance) it is still 15 cents. That is 14.5 and 7.5 percent of the revenue respectively… and that conveniently ignores the cost of the payment terminals.

So the big question is: can you not use those free payment requests mentioned earlier for this kind of transaction? Combined with your own phone, that should make a free cash register relatively easy to reach. With that idea in mind I developed Usecue POS with my company.

Now is the moment

The timing is exactly right… because by the end of 2025 all European banks had to support SEPA Instant Payments. That means payments arrive in your account within 10 seconds. This removes the need for a middleman, because you can see in your banking app whether a payment succeeded. On top of that, in 2024 most Dutch banks replaced their own mobile payment apps with Apple and Google Pay… and that is bad for your privacy. So NOW is the time to act!

Nothing is free!

But hold on, I hear you think… nothing is free! And of course you are right. So how am I going to earn money from this? My goal is to connect hundreds of entrepreneurs to me through this platform. I assume I can easily sell additional services to these people, such as a website with a good CMS. Oh… and do you want to help? Please do! Send me a message. All help is welcome. “If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.”

Curious? Try it yourself.

Cheers!
