Google has convinced the banks to all switch to Google Pay this year. That means that soon no consumer will be able to pay with their phone (via NFC) without using Google Pay. Google thereby gets an enormous amount of information about your purchases… and that is a bad thing. After all, Google’s business model is built on reselling that data.
